Learning From My Gambling Blunders
First to explain why I write this essay. I have been betting online or at a brick and mortar casinos for many years. I have discovered, the dependency can grab a hold of you and you won’t even notice it up until you are broke. Especially if you’re on a winning run. I have gone through many tens of thousands of dollars in a very short period of time and to this day on occasion, I’ll go a bit too far. It seems you’re just having a blast until you decide to track your losses and the guilt settles in, and then you keep telling yourself "I can earn it back" repeatedly. It never works. Then you become sick in your stomach and the harder you attempt the faster you lose.
When you notice that you’re up, STAY on the UP! When you begin to lose, do not say to yourself, "well just maybe just one more" and over and over again, trust me, this logic hardly ever functions. Say you are playing on slot games, have an amount put aside before beginning your play. Don’t exceed that boundary, regardless how tempting. If you actually win, put that in a separate cup. Don’t risk your winnings no matter what. Once you’ve gambled through your original set limit, call it a day. Head out, whether it is online or at a brick and mortar betting house, don’t stay around. Always remember, there is going to be a different day, a different time.
Remember, betting should be exciting not exhausting, nauseating work! If you aren’t enjoying yourself, you don’t belong there. If youcannot manage the cost, do not even begin.
