Cambodia Gambling Halls

There is an interesting story to the Cambodia gambling halls that lie just over the dividing line from next door Thailand, where gambling hall gambling is not legal. Eight gambling halls are based in a relatively small location in the metropolis of Poipet in Cambodia. This group of Cambodia casinos is in an excellent location, a three to four hour trip from Bangkok and Macao, the two most popular gambling locations in Asia. Cambodia gambling halls do a thriving business with Thai workers and guests from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a few Westerners. The amazing income gained from the gambling halls ranges from seven and a half million dollars to more than twelve and a half million dollars, and there are a number of controls constraints for gambling den ownership. Ownership is assumed to be mainly Thai; although, funding sources are cryptic. The borders are ceremoniously open from 0900 to 5:00 p.m., and despite the fact visas are supposedly required to cross, there are ways around this, as is accurate of most border crossings.

The original Cambodia gambling dens premiered in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were forced to close in the late nineties, leaving only 1 casino in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a docked ship gambling hall, highlights one hundred and fifty slots and 60 gaming tables. The Naga casino is open all day and night with forty two tables of mini-baccarat chemin de fer, four tables of chemin de fer, ten of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and 1 each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The first casino in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in 1999 and the Golden Crown soon followed. A total of one hundred and fifty one armed bandits and five tables at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four slots and 68 table games at the Holiday Palace. The newest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort contains 300 one armed bandits and 70 table games and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six slot machine games and ninety six table games, including eighty seven baccarat (the most popular game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Additionally, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five one armed bandits and 66 of the common tables, as well as 1 table of Casino Stud Poker. Another one of the 8 gambling halls in Poipet, again in a motel, is the Princess Casino with 166 slots and 97 table games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of an all-inclusive vacation and hotel compound that features a number of luxuries on top of the gambling hall, which has ten thousand square feet of 130 slot machines and 88 tables.
